The film introduces two characters— our protagonist being a disheveled and obscure gentleman by the name of Mister Davies (who finds himself in a place of distress after being admitted into the care of a psychiatric facility) and the film’s antagonist; being a calculated and well dressed staid professional by the name of Doctor Chausser (the chief of medicine of the psychiatric ward of which Mister Davies is being held.

The story plays out in a surreal fashion as the two gentlemen proceed to delve into Mister Davies’ issues and what has brought him into the care of the medical professionals to begin with. As the story transpires, the audience is quickly left wondering what is real or simply a manic delusion of which Mister Davies has conjured up within his own unorthodox psyche.
